[Product Introduction]
- The 50 series 51 type passenger cars were introduced in 1979 as general passenger cars for Hokkaido.
- Based on the 50 series passenger cars for Honshu, they were equipped with cold- and snow-resistant features such as double-glazed windows on the sides and axle-mounted generators on the bogies, and continued to be used on Hokkaido's main lines, but were retired in 1994, before the 50 series for warmer climates.
- This vehicle is indispensable when talking about passenger trains in Hokkaido.

- KATO's 50 series 51 type passenger car is now available in its later specification with the JR mark painted on the side of the OhaFu 51.
- It is ideal as a towing partner for the popular <3071-2 ED76 500 JR specification> and <7008-L DD51 late model cold-resistant type Hokutosei (gray H-rubber)>.
