[Product Introduction]
- The JR Shikoku 8000 series is a direct current express train from JR Shikoku, the prototype of which appeared in 1992.
- The train uses a controlled natural pendulum system, and is available in 5-car and 3-car formations with non-through and through leading cars. In addition to being split or combined into 5-car + 3-car formations, they are also used individually.
- Mass-produced vehicles were introduced in 1993, and large-scale interior and exterior renovations were carried out in 2004. Further renovations and paint changes will take place from 2023 onwards, and the vehicle continues to be in use today, changing its appearance with the times.

- A new lineup has been added to KATO's JR Shikoku-type trains.
- A 5-car set and a 3-car set will be available after renovation work has been completed.
- In addition, as a special product, we will be releasing an 8-car set in the original colors before the renewal construction was carried out.
- You can enjoy it not only in the Shikoku region, but also with the 10-1999/2000 273 series [Yakumo] and 10-1907/1908 227 series 500 series [Urara], which can be seen at Okayama Station.

[Product Features]
- The cars undergoing renovation work that began in 2004 are now available. The 8500 series (3-car set) reproduces the specifications from around 2010 when the pantograph was removed.
- The 5-car set reproduces the L4 formation, and the 3-car set reproduces the S5 formation.
- The 3-car set is a [Best Selection] package that is easy to recommend even to beginners
- Reproduces the distinctive exterior, including the front shape of the non-through side that makes extensive use of curved surfaces to create a sense of speed, and the pantograph control device on the roof
- Head/tail lights are on for each leading car. The 8400/8200 leading cars have a switch to turn them off.
- Each car uses a body-mounted close-coupled coupler without a hook. The through-type leading car uses a dummy coupler. Coupler and skirt for coupling for the 8400/8200 series are included.
- The powered cars in the 5-car and 8-car sets have traction tires, while the 3-car set does not have traction tires in consideration of coupled operation.
- Slotless motor provides smooth and quiet running
- Equipped with KATO's unique car body pendulum mechanism that reproduces the car body tilting inward when passing through curves, just like the real car
