Aiming to create a vehicle suitable for access routes to the Osaka-Kansai Expo to be held in 2025, the train was designed and developed with a futuristic design reminiscent of a spaceship that would provide an exciting and fun ride, and will begin operating on the Chuo Line in June 2023.
The train was awarded the 2024 Laurel Award in recognition of its unique design that sets it apart from existing trains and its ability to meet diverse needs.
A total of 23 trains are scheduled to be introduced by April 2025.
