[About the actual machine]
The F-84 Thunderjet was a jet fighter developed by Republic and adopted by the United States Air Force after World War II.
Development began in 1944 and, despite encountering various problems, deployment began in 1947, but it was not until 1949 that a fully operational model was introduced.
Improvements continued and the F-84G was introduced in 1951.
The F-84G was deployed in the Korean War and served as a day fighter, long-range escort fighter, and fighter-bomber.
It was powered by a single Allison J35-A-29 turbojet engine, giving it a speed of 622 miles per hour.
It was armed with six .50 caliber machine guns and could also carry 5-inch HVAR rockets or two 1,000-pound bombs.
Further improvements were made, and the F-84F was introduced, with the wing design changed from straight to swept and the engine strengthened.
Furthermore, a reconnaissance version, the RF-84F, was also produced.

[About the model]
This is a plastic model assembly kit that recreates the F-84G Thunderjet, a U.S. Air Force jet fighter that entered service in 1951 and saw action in the Korean War.
The 1/72 scale model measures 161mm in length. The fuselage shape, featuring a straight wing design, is reproduced in great detail, including the wingtip tanks and panel lines of each part of the fuselage.
- The set also includes HVAR rockets mounted under the wings, 500-pound bombs, drop tanks, and Rocket Assisted Take-Off (RATO) equipment attached to the left and right rear fuselage.
Don't miss the impressive weaponry. The cockpit is also modeled with minute details, including the seat and instrument panel, giving it a truly realistic finish.
- Markings include those for US Air Force aircraft as well as Italian Air Force aircraft.
