This is a plastic model assembly kit featuring a metal pitot tube for the T-4, a training aircraft of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.

[About the actual machine]
The T-4 is a subsonic jet aircraft developed by Japan as a successor to the T-33A trainer, and is an intermediate trainer aircraft for Japan Air Self-Defense Force crew members who have completed their initial training in propeller aircraft and wish to move on to jet fighter training.
It features a new transonic wing design to ensure stable flight from low to high speeds (transonic).
Due to its stable flight performance, it was first deployed to various units of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in 1988, and is also used by the acrobatic flying team, Blue Impulse.
The aircraft of each unit are generally painted in the usual grey paint.
The 1st Air Wing, based at Hamamatsu Air Base in Shizuoka Prefecture, also operates the T-4.
They play an active role in nurturing and training elite pilots who will be responsible for Japan's air defense.
