The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the German Air Force's main fighter plane during World War II.
While numerous improved models were released, the F-4 demonstrated its capabilities in every theater of war, from the Eastern Front in Europe to the scorching heat of North Africa.
In particular, the aircraft deployed in North Africa were tropical specification aircraft called "Trop" that were fitted with sand filters in the intakes to prevent the engines from sucking in sand and dust during takeoff and landing, and measures were taken to cope with harsh environments.
Hans-Joachim Marseille was a legendary ace who piloted this F-4 and shot down 151 planes in the skies of North Africa.
His beloved aircraft, nicknamed the "Star of Africa" for its incredible military achievements and outstanding technology, is faithfully reproduced in this kit with four types of markings.
