[About the actual machine]
The C-1 is a domestically produced medium-sized transport aircraft that began deployment of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in 1973. Its first flight was in November 1970 and it began operation in 1973.
The aircraft is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney JT8D turbofan engines, and the rear door under the tail can be opened to accommodate supplies and crew.
It can carry 45 fully equipped paratroopers, 60 regular personnel, and an additional 36 patients if stretchers are attached to the cargo floor via metal rods.
The rear doors could be opened and closed during flight, allowing for airdrops. The payload was 8 tons.
The first prototype, the XC-1, was subsequently operated by the Flight Development and Testing Group as the C-1 FTB (Flight Test Balloon) for practical testing of various equipment until 2025.

[About the model]
-The model is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the C-1, a transport aircraft deployed and operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, in 1/144 scale.
-The kit is modeled after the C-1 prototype No. 1, which served as a flight test aircraft.
・This kit comes with a bonus sticker, newly designed by Platz, featuring the design of the "Thank you, Gin-chan" patch created in honour of the Prototype Unit 1, which was retired in 2025. A must-have for fans.
The model realistically reproduces the aircraft shape with a high-wing T-tail, with a total length of approximately 200mm.
-This is a multi-material kit with resin parts for the fuselage and wings, and metal and etched parts for the fine details such as the legs.
-In addition, this kit includes the long pitot tube that was attached to the nose.
-Pitot tubes are provided as metal parts.
