The EF64-1000 series is a DC electric locomotive designed for steeply graded tracks, introduced in 1980 to replace older electric locomotives on the Takasaki and Joetsu lines.
・The three cars owned by JR East, No. 1030 to No. 1032, have been fitted with double-headed couplers, and the electric heating indicator lights have been removed since around 2018.
