--The unsung hero of the Tokaido Line! The EF10, exclusively for freight!

[Vehicle Introduction]
While Japan steadily progressed in the domestic production of electric locomotives, with the EF52 in 1928 and the EF53 in 1932, these were all passenger locomotives, and foreign-made locomotives imported during the Taisho era were still used for freight trains.
With the opening of the Tanna Tunnel in 1934, the electrified section of the Tokaido Line was extended to Numazu, and the EF10 was created as the first F-class locomotive for freight use to increase transport capacity.
Based on the already proven EF53, the gear ratio was changed to one optimized for low speeds with an emphasis on traction, and design changes such as reducing the leading bogie to a single axle were made to compensate for the decrease in top speed. However, it was basically built on the existing technological system, and in fact, a large number of 16 units of the first type were manufactured all at once without any prototypes, and it boasted high reliability.
A total of 41 units were manufactured by 1941, with variations in form and specifications, and they played a major role as the main freight locomotives produced before the war, primarily on the Tokaido Line.
The product is modeled after the train's body color changed to a lighter "grape color No. 2" around 1960, and its appearance when it was stationed at the Kōzu locomotive depot, allowing you to enjoy the look of a truly iconic supporting player on the Tokaido Line during its golden age of conventional lines.

A variation product based on A1901 (shipped July 2003).
In response to numerous requests, we are expanding the range of variations for the EF10 series first-generation locomotive, which features a classic design.
The "grape color No. 2" body color, which was seen from around 1960 and is familiar to many fans.
Attached to a hook-type taillight.
Based on actual photographs, the lightning arrester on the roof is positioned directly behind the headlight.
The marking "[Caution: Overhead Wires]" is printed above the front passenger-side window.
Locomotives belonging to Kōzu Depot, with the depot nameplate [Kōzu] already printed.
The manufacturer's plate is printed with [Hitachi].
