--The EF65 No. 1118, which was mainly used for special trains and featured a red body with the letters "EF65" in huge white letters, makes a rare appearance.

[Product Introduction]
The EF65 1000 series was introduced in 1969 as a versatile DC electric locomotive that could be used for a wide range of passenger and freight trains. It played an active role in pulling various trains, including Blue Trains and freight trains, on electrified DC flat lines throughout Japan.
After the transition to JR, the train cars featured the JR mark, and there were noticeable differences in appearance compared to the JNR era, such as changes in roof color and the addition of radio antennas.
EF65 1118 was introduced in 1997, replacing EF65 1019, the first locomotive to feature the "Rainbow" livery, which had become obsolete.
A distinctive feature of this train is the large [EF65] logo that is prominently displayed on the side of the train body, which is also applied to the side windows.
Initially, the H-shaped rubber seals on each part were gray, but they were changed to black during the inspection in March 2000.
Additionally, air conditioning was installed in 2006, and during an inspection in 2009, the portion of the [EF65] logo that overlapped the side window was omitted.

In addition to the new (HO) EF65 1000 series released after the transition to JR, we will also be releasing a new motorized version of the (HO) EF65 1118 (Rainbow), which is characterized by the large [EF65] logo painted on the side of the body.

Furthermore, by using the <28-305 (HO) Ef65 1000 Black H-rubber Glass Set> released by Hobby Center Kato, it is possible to reproduce the difference in the color of the H-rubber and the appearance of the EF65 1118 (Rainbow) where part of the logo is missing from the side windows.

[Product features]
This model recreates the appearance from around 2000-2006, featuring black rubber window seals, no air conditioning, and the [EF65] logo on the side windows.
The license plate [EF65 1118] and manufacturer's plate [Kawasaki Heavy Industries/Fuji Electric] are realistically reproduced with printing.
The Quick Headmark set includes [Galaxy], [Cartrain], [Elm], and [Hokutosei].
Equipped with a flywheel-equipped power unit, it achieves powerful and stable running.
