Product Description

--A reproduction of the EF81 81, which played an active role in the Cassiopeia Cruise and other services in its later years. With HC-spec parts to convert it to the Imperial Train specification, it can also be recreated as a JNR (Japanese National Railways) locomotive!

[Product Introduction]
EF81 locomotive No. 81 was painted in red No. 13 (commonly known as rose pink) and given silver stripes on the sides and other silver paintwork during the 1985 International Technical Exposition (commonly known as the Tsukuba Expo) to serve as the locomotive for the Imperial Train. In addition to pulling the Imperial Train No. 1 twice, it also played an active role in pulling trains such as the Orient Express '88 and the Hokutosei.
After that, it was painted in the Hokutosei livery with a shooting star mark on a red No. 2 body, but in August 2014, it was restored from the original Hokutosei livery to red No. 13 (commonly known as rose pink), attracting attention.

We will be re-releasing the EF81 81 Rose Pink JR specification, which features a body painted in Red No. 13 (commonly known as Rose Pink) and silver decorations in various places.
It is recommended as a locomotive for the <10-853 Imperial Train No. 1 (Showa Era Specification)> which will be released at the same time, and the popular <10-2112/2114 E26 Series [Cassiopeia Cruise]/[Cassiopeia]> which is currently on sale.

[Product features]
This product represents EF81 locomotive No. 81 in its appearance after being restored to its rose pink paint scheme in 2014.
The body paint in Red No. 13 (rose pink), the glossy bogie area, and the silver stripe on the side are all reproduced.
The silver decorations applied to various parts, such as the handrails below the front windows and on both sides of the crew door, and the holder for the district nameplate, have been reproduced.
The front guide's handrail and release lever are reproduced in silver.
The front wipers and side vertical bars are depicted in silver, while the H-shaped rubber seals are black.
By installing the <28-236 EF81 Imperial Train Specification Parts Set (Hobby Center Kato product)>, it is possible to recreate the appearance when pulling an Imperial train.
The slotless motor ensures smooth and quiet operation.
