[Product Introduction]
The 731 series is a commuter AC electric train operated by JR Hokkaido, which debuted in 1997.
Its main features include a stainless steel body that is slightly longer than typical 21-meter-long, three-door commuter trains, and an interior with all-longitudinal seating, a first in Hokkaido, eliminating the deck area.
In recent years, the trains have undergone modifications including the replacement of the pantographs with single-arm pantographs, the removal of the automatic gangway connection system, and the updating of major equipment.
The KiHa 201 series is a commuter diesel railcar operated by JR Hokkaido, introduced in 1997.
It has a train-like style with a three-car set including an intermediate car without a driver's cab, and is equipped with two 450ps engines per car, capable of reaching a maximum speed of 130 km/h, and a car body tilting system to improve its ability to negotiate curves (currently out of service).
Both the 731 series and the KiHa 201 series are capable of operating in coupled formation. Although the 731 series does not have a car body tilting mechanism, it shares the same car body cross-section shape, which tapers towards the top, as the KiHa 201 series.
The 731 series was active on the following routes: Otaru - Sapporo - Takikawa (Hakodate Main Line), Sapporo - New Chitose Airport/Tomakomai (Chitose Line/Muroran Main Line), and Sapporo - Hokkaido Medical University (Sassho Line/JR Gakuen Toshi Line). Until recently, it was also used for the [Ishikari Liner] service.
The KiHa 201 series operates on the Hakodate Main Line between Rankoshi, Otaru, Sapporo, and Iwamizawa, and between Otaru and Sapporo, the 731 series and KiHa 201 series are coupled together for coordinated operation.

We will be releasing a model of the JR Hokkaido 731 series electric train and KiHa 201 series diesel railcar, which are the only trains in Japan that still operate in coordinated combined operation with diesel railcars. We have made some revisions to the specifications.
You can enjoy the sight of the 789 series 1000 series [Kamui/Suzuran] and Kiha 283 series [Okhotsk/Taisetsu] running in the Sapporo area, as well as freight trains pulled by DF200 locomotives.

[Product features]
This product features the G114 train set belonging to the Sapporo Depot, which is different from previous products.
The vehicle accurately reproduces its appearance after the removal of the automatic canopy system and the updating of the underfloor equipment.
Rooftop equipment already installed
The couplers used are close-coupling couplers without hooks, both at the front and in the middle of the train. The couplers at the front are equipped with detachable coupler covers.
The adoption of a slotless motor ensures smooth and quiet operation.
