The GE ES44AC is a diesel-electric locomotive belonging to the Evolution Series developed by GE Transportation, and is the main freight locomotive in North America, mass-produced from the mid-2000s.
By employing an AC motor, it achieves both high output of approximately 4400 horsepower and reduced exhaust emissions.
