Product Description
-- Longer train formations are also possible! The 3400 series is compatible with coupling!
[Vehicle Introduction]
Nagoya Railroad, which was formed through the merger of Aichi Electric Railway and Meigi Railway, introduced its first new type of train, the 3400 series, in 1937 for use on the Eastern Line (Jingumae - Toyohashi).
It featured a streamlined design that was popular at the time, a skirt that covered the entire undercarriage equipment from the lower front to the sides, and a paint job of varying shades of green, and was affectionately nicknamed "Caterpillar" by fans.
Although initially manufactured as a two-car train, intermediate cars were added in 1950 and 1953, eventually forming a four-car train that continued to operate on the Nagoya Main Line.
In 1967, major maintenance (renovation work) was carried out, including the replacement of the front windows with continuous-window-style curved glass and the replacement of the side window frames with aluminum.
The body paint scheme has been changed several times, from [light and dark green] (1937-) to [candy pink and maroon two-tone] (around 1953-) to [straw cream with a scarlet stripe] (around 1968-) to [single scarlet color] (around 1976-).
In 1984, modifications were made to allow coupling with AL cars (3900 series, 7300 series, etc.), and jumper cables and other features were added to the front skirt.
In 1988, the (original) 3401 series was retired and replaced by a successor train.

In response to numerous requests, we will be producing caterpillars again after approximately 15 years!
A variation product based on A1055 (shipped in August 2012).
This is how it looked from after the coupling modification in 1984 until it was scrapped in 1988.
Sa2451 features a bogie that differs from other cars.
Different ventilators are manufactured for the lead car and the intermediate cars.
An additional coupling skirt with Arnold couplers has been created, allowing for the reproduction of an 8-car train by coupling two sets together. *The product is shipped with the dummy coupler skirt part already attached.
*The cutouts in the side skirts have been modified to be larger than those on the actual vehicle in order to ensure driving performance.
*Due to the sharing of parts, some parts may differ from the actual vehicle.
