--The current 383 series train of the [Shinano] service, which will soon be replaced by a new generation, is being reproduced. Now you can recreate the sight of it speeding along the Chuo Main Line with its tilting mechanism in model form.

[Product Introduction]
The 383 series is a tilting express train developed by JR Central in 1994 to replace the 381 series and to enhance the image of the "Shinano" express train in preparation for the Nagano Olympics.
Following the 381 series [Panorama Shinano], the trains feature the streamlined Kuro 383 leading car on the Nagano side, as well as other through-type leading cars, and are operated in a variety of formations combining 6-car, 4-car, and 2-car sets.
It runs along the Chuo Main Line, Shinonoi Line, and Shin'etsu Main Line, connecting Nagoya, Shiojiri, Matsumoto, and Nagano over long distances.

We will be re-releasing the 383 series, which is used for the limited express "Shinano" service.

[Product features]
We are producing models of the A9 (6-car basic set), A101 (4-car add-on set), and A201 (2-car add-on set) trains belonging to JR Central's Jinryo Depot.
The distinctive rounded front shape and panoramic driver's cab are realistically reproduced.
This recreates the current form of the train, with a non-smoking car mark added to each car and the non-smoking car mark removed from the destination display.
By combining three different train configurations, it's possible to recreate various train formations of 6, 8, or 10 cars.
It features KATO's unique body tilting mechanism, which reproduces the inward tilt of the car body when passing through curves, just like the real train.
The adoption of a slotless motor ensures smooth and quiet operation.
The side destination display is pre-printed with "[Limited Express Shinano Nagano]".
The lead car's headlights/taillights and the front destination display illuminate. A light switch is standard equipment (Kuha 383 and Kuro 383 do not have a light switch).
The intermediate connecting sections are equipped with standard body-mounted KATO close-coupling couplers (with hooks). The leading section uses KATO close-coupling couplers (without hooks) and comes with a single-stage electrical connector.
By using the "28-142N 383 Series [Shinano] Power Unit 2" released by Hobby Center Kato, it is possible to motorize the Moha 383-10 in the 4-car add-on set.
