Product Description

We are pleased to announce a new product from SBS Models of Hungary: a 1/72 scale full resin kit of the Percival Müh Gull E.2H, the record-breaking aircraft from the 1939 Cape Town race.
The Mu Gull was a racing aircraft developed and manufactured by the British company Percival and was active in the 1930s.
This small, single-engine, single-seat, low-wing monoplane with a wooden structure was one of the most famous aircraft, dominating British air races until the outbreak of World War II.
The prototype, which made its maiden flight in March 1934 and was equipped with a Napier Javelin engine, was designated E.1. Later, the aircraft, with its wings and fuselage redesignated and its engine replaced with a de Havilland Gypsy Six, was redesignated as E.2.
The product we are introducing today is a replica of the E.2H aircraft with registration number G-AEXF, piloted by Alex Henshaw in the 1939 British-South African Cape Town round-trip race.
In this race, he recorded 39 hours and 25 minutes for the outward journey of approximately 10,263 km to Cape Town, and 39 hours and 36 minutes for the return journey. This record remained unbroken until 2009.
The kit includes clear resin canopy parts, photo-etched parts, and one type of decal.
When completed, it will be approximately 86mm in length and 109mm in width.
SBS Models' full resin kits are designed with the modeler in mind, prioritizing ease of assembly by minimizing the number of parts while incorporating delicate details that are difficult to reproduce with injection molding.
