──A local train from the 1950s! The 61 series in grape color No. 1!

[Vehicle Introduction]
By the 1950s, when transportation was somehow being kept going despite the exhausted infrastructure and rolling stock during the chaotic post-war period, a large number of wooden passenger cars manufactured during the Taisho era remained in service.
During overcrowded transport, accidents involving damage to the train cars frequently occurred, and in the event of a derailment or collision, the damage was exacerbated, making the situation increasingly serious. However, GHQ policy did not permit the construction of new train cars, so as a last resort, a plan was devised to mass-produce steel passenger cars in a short period of time under the guise of "converting wooden passenger cars."
Furthermore, by expanding the 17-meter-long wooden passenger cars to 20-meter-long cars, an improvement in transport capacity was also achieved, and the steel-bodied passenger cars based on this plan were organized into the 60-series.
Initially, the [Oha 60] and [Ohafu 60] cars appeared with side windows 700mm wide, following the design of wooden passenger cars, and were arranged in sets of three.
Later, they were improved into the [Oha 61] and [Ohafu 61], which had 1000mm wide windows similar to the Oha 35, and 1052 Oha 61s and 795 Ohafu 61s were produced, both of which were widely used in areas south of Honshu.

You can enjoy various train formations by combining A5715/Oha 61, A5716/Ohafu 61, and the already announced grape-colored No. 1 passenger cars (A8550/Mani 60, etc.).
*During the 1950s and 60s, the Japanese National Railways (JNR) changed its standards for car markings every few years. As the A5715 Oha 61, A5716 Ohafu 61, and other products in the Grape Color No. 1 passenger car series do not have a unified time period or affiliation, the position and content of the markings will differ for each product.

In the early 1950s, the third-class marking [III] was printed below the side windows.
The side number is displayed in two lines, with the management bureau and affiliation markings placed to the left of the number.
A mark indicating a simultaneous flashing device is printed next to the passenger capacity marking.
