We are pleased to announce the completely new 1/72 scale K11W Shiragiku from Czech company KP Models.

The Shiragiku was an aircraft developed and manufactured by Kyushu Aircraft and used by the Imperial Japanese Navy as an in-flight training aircraft.
This aircraft was officially adopted in 1942 and used until the end of the war, with some units even being used as kamikaze planes towards the end of the conflict.
The kit includes 3D-printed Tenpu 21 air-cooled 9-cylinder engine parts, two types of canopy parts (early and late models x 1 each), two types of landing gear parts, painting mask stickers, and four types of decals.
When completed, it will be approximately 139mm in length and 208mm in width.

The Shiragiku is an airborne operations training aircraft developed and manufactured by Kyushu Aircraft, with the aircraft designation K11W.
In 1941, the Navy instructed Watanabe Iron Works (later Kyushu Aircraft) to develop a successor to the Type 9 Airborne Training Aircraft, and the first prototype was completed in 1942.
Mass production of the prototype Shiragiku (K11W1) began in 1943, and after the prototype Shiragiku Kai (K11W2) was developed, both the prototype Shiragiku and the prototype Shiragiku Kai were officially adopted in 1944.
With its excellent stability, maneuverability, spacious cabin, and versatility, this aircraft was used not only as an in-flight training aircraft but also for short-range transport, liaison, and anti-submarine patrol missions.
When orders were given in 1945 to form special attack units, the Shiragiku was deployed as a special attack aircraft in the Battle of Okinawa.
Of the 798 Shiragiku aircraft manufactured, more than 370 remained in service at the end of the war, some of which were used for Green Cross flights.
