Product Description

This version of the Akagi comes with photo-etched parts and includes a wave base that allows you to realistically depict the ship sailing.

No painting required: Each part is colored with molded plastic, and some parts are colored using stickers.
No glue required: The parts are designed to fit together easily, making assembly simple.

[Structural and Specifications Features]
- It is made up of pre-colored parts, so the desired color scheme can be reproduced without painting.
• Because it uses a snap-fit assembly system, it can be assembled without using glue.
- Includes a sea surface base to easily and realistically display the model sailing on the open sea.

[Product Features]
The scale is 1/700.
The product is modeled after the Pearl Harbor attack in December 1941 (the start of the war).
- Products with mold designs and production dates later than those in the same scale/different series (Special Series).
The finished product is a waterline model that reproduces the part of the vehicle above the waterline.
- The parts are molded in a gray color that mimics the historical Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color (Yokosuka Naval District, entered Yokosuka Naval Arsenal in 1942).
The display base features a three-dimensional representation of the wake generated from the bow, sides, and propellers of the ship.

- hull
The hull is split into left and right halves, divided at the waterline. It is molded in a special gray color that mimics the battleship gray used at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal.
The sides of the hull are divided into left and right sections, and the portholes and external electrical conduits are represented with sharp, three-dimensional sculptures.
- Fairleads and other fittings and details are realistically reproduced with sharp sculpting.

- flight deck
- The flight deck is made up of separate parts for the steel and wooden sections. This allows for color separation without the need for painting.
The wooden deck features delicate carvings that give it a realistic appearance even without painting, and the depth is suitable for panel lining during painting.
The elevator features delicate carvings that depict the eye ring.
- The drainage gutters and windbreaks around the flight deck, as well as the truss structure on the underside, are rendered in intricate detail.

- Bow
- The anchor deck at the bow features a single molded piece of rigging, while the anchor chain and other details are reproduced with a three-dimensional design.
- The crane rails under the stern flight deck are separate parts, demonstrating attention to detail even in areas that are not easily visible.
- The struts and auxiliary supports that support the flight deck are reproduced with delicate parts.

- Equipment
The chimney's tip is a separate part, molded in black to reproduce the paint scheme without painting, and the depth of the exhaust port is also reproduced.
The bridge features a realistic design with molded details all around using a slide mold.
The 20cm guns mounted on both sides of the stern are exquisitely crafted, even down to the wrinkles in the canvas.

- Carrier-based aircraft
The set includes three types of aircraft that were on board the carrier from December 1941 to June 1942, when the ship was lost. The Zero Fighter and Type 99 Dive Bomber are molded in light gray. The Type 97 Carrier Attack Bomber is molded in dark green. Each aircraft is made from one piece, with three of each type included, for a total of nine aircraft.
- The included Hinomaru (Japanese flag) marking stickers allow for easy reproduction of the color scheme.

- Includes pre-cut stickers with excellent conformability for easy detail coloring.
The included decals cover the linoleum flooring on the outer hull walkways and the white lines on the flight deck, allowing for color representation without painting.
- In addition to the stickers, a separate decal sheet is included for painted finishes, featuring white lines on the flight deck and the Hinomaru (Japanese national emblem) on the aircraft.

The molded parts consist of seven colors in total: (Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color, black, linoleum color, wooden deck color, dark green, light gray, and clear blue).
