Product Description
The Type 9 field gun, officially adopted in 1932, was highly regarded by troops for its long range and other features, but its lack of mobility was a drawback, as it was primarily towed by military horses.
Therefore, the Type 9 Mobile Field Gun was an improved version equipped with suspension and rubber tires, making it possible to be towed by a vehicle.
This increases the maximum towing speed to 45 km/h, resulting in a significant improvement in maneuverability.
After its initial deployment in combat during the Nomonhan Incident, deployment progressed, primarily to units in Manchuria, and from 1942 onward, it was fully introduced to mobile artillery regiments of tank divisions and other units.
It was used in the final stages of the war, during the defense of the Philippines, the Battle of Iwo Jima, and the Battle of Okinawa.
