The Mi-28 is a tandem-seat attack helicopter developed by the Soviet Mil Design Bureau, with the NATO codename [Havoc]. Unlike the Mi-24, it was designed as a purely anti-tank attack helicopter. Although it ceded the position of the next-generation anti-tank helicopter to the Ka-50, the development program continued due to delays in the production and deployment of the Ka-50, and in 1995 the Mi-28N appeared, which improved the all-weather/night combat capabilities that had been considered a weakness. The Mi-28NE is an export variant.
