Product Description

──6000 series transferred from Ikebukuro Line to Shinjuku Line

- The Seibu 6000 series was introduced in 1992 as a train for mutual through service between the Seibu Ikebukuro Line and the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line.
- It is the only Seibu Railway train to feature a stainless steel body, and was introduced as the first 10-car fixed formation train.
- It features a style never seen on previous Seibu trains, such as its L-shaped front end and the installation of an emergency passageway compatible with subways.
- From the 6151 train made after 1996, the body structure is made from aluminum, and from the 6156 to 6158 trains made after 1997, the door pocket windows have been eliminated, and there are other differences depending on the manufacturing period.
- Work to update the running equipment began in 2014, and was completed on all trains by 2019.
- From around March 2024, yellow tape will be posted above the front through doors to indicate that the car is not suitable for subways.
