- The Kiha 20 series is a general-purpose diesel car of the Japanese National Railways that was introduced in 1957 by enlarging the Kiha 10 series car body.
- Through many design changes, 1,126 cars were manufactured by 1966 and were widely used throughout Japan.
- The Kiha 20 series is a double-cab car, while the Kiha 25 series is a single-cab car, and the 200 series has been changed to double-sash side windows.
