Product Description

The aircraft carrier [Mogami], which has a large aviation work space at the rear of the ship, is now available as a full-hull type with a new mold.

[Basic specifications]
This is an unpainted kit that requires assembly and painting.
- Scale is 1/700, full hull specification including the bottom of the ship
・This product is made up of a conventional (special series) mold and a newly added mold.
・The underwater section will be manufactured in 2025, and the offshore section will be manufactured using molds designed in 2012.

[Product Specifications]
The product is based on the first ship of the Mogami class, the Mogami, after it was converted into an aircraft carrier in 1943.
・The No. 4.5 main guns were removed and a new aircraft work deck was installed.
- Features include the installation of No. 21 radar, expansion of the air defense command post and machine gun turret in front of the bridge.

[Hull]
The hull is a one-piece structure with the starboard and left sides molded as a single unit.
- The side bulge is a separate part
- A mold part exclusively for aircraft carriers, which has been reduced by closing portholes due to wartime lessons.

[Bottom]
- The bottom of the ship is a one-piece structure
- The side bulge is made into a single part above and below the waterline.
-Realistic representation of the shape of the shaft bracket and the curved shape of the eddy plate
- The thickness of the rudder mounting part is reproduced, and the surface of the balanced twin rudders is engraved for a three-dimensional design.
- Water supply and drainage ports are carved into the bottom of the ship
- The bilge keel is integrated with the bulge, and the bulge reproduces the larger external shape after performance improvements.

[Upper Deck]
・Bow to stern integrated parts
→ The linoleum deck and the anti-slip iron deck are carved to enhance the sense of detail.
- Ventilation ducts and reels are integrated into the deck
- The anti-slip split pattern below the aircraft work deck is expressed with delicate carvings.

[Each deck)]
- Various details are reproduced, including machine gun ammunition boxes, single machine gun mounting parts, and hose reels.
- The shelter deck is a separate part, and the torpedo equipment compartment on the lower level is also accurately reproduced.
- The aircraft work deck is a single piece, and the truss girder structure on the underside is also reproduced.

[bridge]
The base of the bridge structure is an integrated part with engravings on all four sides using a slide mold.
- The machine gun turret in front of the bridge is enlarged and recreated with special parts.

[Main turret]
- The joints of the heat shields on the sides and top of the turret are depicted with detailed engraving.

[chimney)]
- Both front and rear chimneys are split into left and right sections
→Handrails and double scaffolding are expressed with delicate carvings
・The chimney's rainproof grille is removed, allowing the inner cylinder to be seen through.
・The steam exhaust pipe is a separate part from the chimney

[Masts and Aviation Equipment]
- The rear mast is molded as a single piece to represent the truss structure below.
→It allows you to easily reproduce detailed shapes without any processing.
・The seaplane lifting and storage crane is a one-piece component made by a slide mold.
→ Delicate design also expresses the hook
- The catapult (Kure Type 2, Model 5) uses a slide mold to realistically reproduce the side and top shapes.

[Carriage-based aircraft]
- The molding color is gray to improve workability (to prevent damage when cutting the gate).
- Includes eight Zero (three-seat) floatplanes and four Zero observation floatplanes.

[Included decals]
- Two types of decals, a total of five sheets included
- Four decal sheets containing markings such as naval ensigns, national flags, and the Japanese flag for aircraft carriers.
→ Naval ensigns and other items are available in three sizes. The actual dimensions are 10cm wide, 6cm wide, and 3cm wide, all in 1/700 scale.
→ Includes the Hinomaru flag of carrier-based aircraft, friendly identification bands (yellow bands), etc. The Hinomaru flag also includes the one without the white border from the latter half of the war.
- One decal sheet containing the stern ship name, white line for the rear mast, draft mark, etc.
→ The stern ship name is painted in gold or battleship color.
