[Vehicle Guide]
The KiHa 10 series was a diesel railcar equipped with a hydraulic transmission, and its ability to control multiple units enabled the operation of long trains, laying the foundation for later JNR diesel railcars such as the KiHa 55 and 20 series.
Beginning with the single-cab KiHa 17 introduced in 1953, the following year saw the introduction of the single-cab KiHa 16 without a toilet and the intermediate car KiHa 18 without a driver's cab. Initially, the focus was on models intended for long train formations, but from 1955 onwards, the double-cab KiHa 10 without a toilet and the double-cab KiHa 11 with a toilet were introduced.
They were used on non-electrified lines throughout Japan, along with their successors, the KiHa 20, 30, and 45 series, but were gradually replaced by the introduction of the KiHa 40 series, and all were retired by around 1981.

High-grade (HG) specifications
Features a headlight prism that does not turn black when not illuminated.
The jumper hoses can be reproduced in three dimensions using separate parts.
The headlights and taillights are equipped with a constant-light circuit board and an ON/OFF switch.
The headlights use warm white LEDs, and the taillights use red LEDs.
The H-shaped rubber is reproduced in gray.
The seats are reproduced in blue.
The car number is selectable and comes with a transfer sheet.
The headlight is reproduced as a single-lamp design, but a dual-lamp design can also be reproduced using the included parts.
TN coupler (SP) is standard equipment.
Units <7447, 7448, 7449, and 7451> use a conventional current collection system and black wheels.
<7446 and 7450> feature flywheel-equipped motors and black wheels.

<7446・7447> Kiha 10 series
This model recreates a group of KiHa 10 series trains that do not have toilets, specifically those with a single-sided push-type ventilator directly behind the driver's cab.

<7448> Kiha 11 series
This model recreates a group of KiHa 11 series trains equipped with toilets, specifically those with a single-sided push-type ventilator directly behind the driver's cab.

<7449> Kiha 16 series
This model recreates a specific group of KiHa 16 series trains, featuring a single-sided push-type ventilator immediately behind the driver's cab, a two-part handrail next to the crew door, and a shorter handrail next to the passenger door.

<7450・7451> Kiha 17 series
This model recreates a group of KiHa 17 series trains that have a single-sided push-type ventilator immediately behind the driver's cab and long handrails next to the crew door and passenger door.
