[Product Introduction]
The 883 series was introduced in 1995 with the aim of speeding up the Nippo Main Line and improving service. It is JR Kyushu's first pendulum-type train and Japan's first commercial AC pendulum-type train.
Another feature is that the design on the front varies depending on the year of manufacture.
Since 2005, renovation work has been carried out, and the building now has a unified metallic blue exterior.
In 2025, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its debut, the first train (AO-1) will be given a commemorative wrapping and will be in operation for the remainder of the year.
Among the 883 series trains that are used as the Sonic express train, we will be releasing the first batch of cars with fog lights that light up in three places, which is different from previous products, in an affordable set configuration.
The AO-1 train set, decorated with 30th anniversary commemorative wrapping, will also be released at the same time.
The 30th anniversary logo placed in various places and the fog light in the center of the front are reproduced.
You can enjoy it together with a wide range of rolling stock products that are in use in the Kyushu region, such as the popular 10-2090 787 series [36 Plus 3], 10-1540 787 series <Around the Kyushu>, and 10-1952 885 series (2nd batch) <Around the Kyushu>.

The dark metallic blue exterior after renovation is reproduced.
The basic set (4 cars) comes in an affordable Best Selection package. The add-on set (3 cars) comes in a 7-car bookcase that can store the contents of the basic set (4 cars).
Equipped with KATO's unique car body pendulum mechanism that reproduces the car body tilting inward when passing through curves, just like the real thing.
The underfloor and bogies are blue-gray in color, and the couplers are black.
The intermediate car coupling section uses a KATO close-coupled coupler with a jumper tube.
