Product Description
Hood was a battlecruiser of the Royal Navy.
She was launched on August 22, 1918, and was nicknamed "Mighty Hood" by the British people.
Hood served as flagship on the Special Task Force's circumnavigation of the globe in 1923-1924, making her name known around the world.
However, by the time of the outbreak of World War II, this majestic structure had become outdated.
Before the war, Hood was planned for a major overhaul, but due to cost issues, the project was postponed and the war began without it ever being carried out.
On May 24, 1941, Hood was hit by gunfire from the battleship Bismarck and sunk into the Denmark Strait.
