Product Description
--A polka-dot gradient speeds towards Minami! The 223 series with its charming round headlights!
[Vehicle Introduction]
The 223 series was introduced on the Hanwa Line in 1994 to coincide with the opening of the Kansai Airport Line.
Based on the 221 series commuter trains that JR West was adding to its fleet at the time, the train featured a lightweight stainless steel body and VVVF inverter control. Since then, various variations have been developed for different lines, and it has become a mainstay of JR West's fleet.
Initially, the trains debuted as a 6-car basic formation and a 2-car auxiliary formation, and 4-car formations were also seen, formed by coupling two auxiliary formations together.
In 1999, to strengthen access to the Wakayama area and to begin rapid service between Kansai Airport and Kishuji, the trains were reconfigured to consist of a 5-car basic formation and a 3-car auxiliary formation. The resulting shortage of leading cars was replaced by the 223 series 2500 series.
In 2008, when all train sets were reorganized again to consist of four cars, a wide variety of train sets were created with different car series numbers. These included sets that were converted to four cars by inserting 2500 series intermediate cars into three-car sets, and sets that combined 0 series intermediate cars that were removed when five-car sets were converted to four cars with three newly built 2500 series cars.
This product is modeled after the group of trains that remained all 0-series after rearrangement, before the installation of fall prevention barriers on the front of the leading cars and before the refurbishment work was carried out, up until around 2014, allowing you to enjoy the unified beauty of the train formation.
In response to numerous requests, we have also prepared the 2500 series trailer intermediate car as a standalone MA's Choice, which can be used for a wide range of purposes, such as recreating the transfer of the train when it leaves the manufacturer, incorporating it into existing products (3-car formations), and converting existing powered cars into trailer cars.

Further expansion of the Micro Ace train series
Responding to numerous requests, a new variation of the 223 series, which is mainly active on the Hanwa Line, is now available!
Variation models based on A3372 (shipped in May 2009) and A9564 (released in April 2015).
The A9560 is a train set where all four cars are of the 0 series.
Headlights, taillights, and front display have switches for turning them on and off.
This is how the train looked from around 2008 to around 2014, after it was converted to a four-car formation, before the installation of fall prevention gangways on the front, and before the structural improvement work was carried out.
The Moha 223-0 series included in A9560 is the first production run in 17 years.
A weakly air-conditioned car mark is printed on the side panel of the Kuha 222.
