[Product Introduction]
The KiHa 58 series, manufactured between 1961 and 1968, was a train that operated on non-electrified lines throughout Japan, excluding Hokkaido.
In urban areas, long train sets were common, while in rural areas, shorter train sets were more frequent, and there were many different combinations of train formations.
We are pleased to offer the Kiha 58 series as a starter set that includes tracks and a power pack.

The starter set is an all-in-one set that includes the Kiha 58 series train, the necessary rolling stock, tracks (Unitrack), and control equipment (power pack) for operation.
As a next step, we recommend adding various individual products to create longer train formations, or expanding the tracks to allow for passing runs with other trains operating in the same region.

[Product features]
A starter set featuring the Kiha 58 series, which was seen in various regions during the Japanese National Railways era.
The Kiha 58 series included in the set reproduces its appearance from around 1980.
The Kiha 58/28 is reproduced with flat driver's cab windows, no snowplow, and a slit-type typhoon horn.
The KiHa 58/28 models reproduce the 0 series which were retrofitted with air conditioning. The KiHa 28 model is the version without a generator engine.
The KiRo 28 is reproduced with a green stripe on the side of the car body, a rectangular AU13 air conditioner on the roof, and a 4VK engine mounted under the floor.
The front gangway door of the lead car is reproduced in the form of a gangway frame, and a gangway gangway can be attached as desired. One gangway gangway is included in the set.
Each car uses a body-mounted close-coupling coupler. A body mount that replicates the air hose is included as an accessory.
The seats inside the train cars are depicted in dark blue for the standard cars and maroon for the KiRo 28 cars, recreating the difference between standard and green cars.
The adoption of a slotless motor ensures smooth and quiet operation.
The Kiha 58 has working headlights/taillights and front display (with on/off switch).
The front display is pre-printed with "[Express]". A blank replacement front display is included. A sticker sheet containing destination signs and other markings is also included.

The Unitrack track consists of one endless loop, equivalent to an M1 set.
By adding Unitrack [V-track set series] or individual Unitrack tracks, a variety of track layouts can be developed.
The power pack is the user-friendly, high-output (1.2A) [Power Pack Standard SX] / [Starter Set Dedicated AC Adapter].
The included plan variation guide is a treasure trove of track layouts, allowing you to enjoy a more expandable system.
The package contains a [secret pocket] where you can store cases for additional train sets or tracks that you purchase later.
