Product Description

The FFM-1 [Mogami] and FFM-2 [Kumano] were approved for construction in the FY2018 budget and are state-of-the-art destroyers specializing in mine countermeasures against advanced mines, equipped with mine-counter sonar, autonomous underwater vehicle (UUV) and unmanned surface vehicle (USV) for mine clearance.
With improved stealth capabilities in mind, most of the equipment is installed on the inside of the sloping hull sides, and the ship's appearance is distinct from previous destroyers, featuring a unique unicorn-shaped composite antenna and a pyramidal mast with multi-function radars on all four sides.
