Because 1,115 cars in total were made, it was most steam locomotives in Japan.
The nickname was "Degoichi".
No. 498 was completed in 1940. It is a locomotive made with general specifications of D51.
It was done a junk car after it was used by the 100th anniversary Japan National Railways (JNR) memory train in October, 1972.
Because No. 498 was stored, reconstruction construction was performed in 1988.
It is used for a special train in East Japan district and attracts attention afterwards.
This model reproduces a figure of 2007.
