[Actual vehicle introduction]
The Super Salon Yumeji is a train for group travel that was introduced with the opening of the Seto Ohashi Bridge in 1988.
The train's biggest feature is the windows that have been enlarged to the maximum extent possible on both the front and sides to provide a wide view when traveling over the Seto Ohashi Bridge, and for this reason the body of the train is made of steel to ensure its strength.
In addition, the maximum speed is 120 km/h to accommodate the various lines that the train will travel on when used as a group train, and the structure is designed to be cold and snow resistant.
In addition to being used as a group train with three cars, during peak passenger periods, additional cars are sometimes added to the 213 series Rapid Marine Liner.
In 2003, this train was replaced by the 223 series and 5000 series, and was mainly used for group trains, but was retired after its farewell run in March 2010.
