[Product Introduction]
The JR Shikoku 2000 series is a limited express diesel railcar developed by JR Shikoku to increase speed on the Dosan Line, which has many steep and winding sections due to the Shikoku Mountains. It is the world's first mass-produced (the prototype was the JNR Kiha 391 series) tilting diesel railcar and Japan's first controlled tilting vehicle.
The N2000 series is an improved version of the 2000 series, manufactured specifically for the Kotoku Line.
Both types of trains are used on major express trains throughout Shikoku, but in recent years their operational range has been reduced due to the introduction of newer successor models.
As of 2024, the remaining vehicles have undergone renovation work, including the conversion of destination displays to full-color LEDs, and in some cases, the replacement of bogies and the conversion of headlights to LEDs, although there are individual differences depending on the model and affiliation.
The 2000 series is mainly used on the limited express trains "Ashizuri" (Kochi-Nakamura/Sukumo) and "Uwakai" (Matsuyama-Uwajima), while the N2000 series is used on the limited express "Uwakai," and is also frequently used as a substitute for various other limited express trains.

We will be producing models of the JR Shikoku 2000 series and N2000 series, which are still in active service as limited express trains such as the Ashizuri and Uwakai.
The 2000 series will be reproduced in its latest form, which includes the replacement of the bogies and the conversion of the side destination indicators to full-color LEDs, while the N2000 series will be reproduced in its latest form with updated LED headlights.

JR Shikoku 2000 series Limited Express [Ashizuri] 2-car set
- Products will be produced of vehicles belonging to the Kochi Depot as of 2024, that have undergone bogie replacement, side display updates, and have not had their headlights updated.
- Newly reproduced the replaced, newly designed S-DT69 bogie.
The headmark [Ashizuri] is already attached. Replacement headmarks [Uwakai], [Shimanto], [Ishizuchi], and [(plain)] are included.
- Includes stickers to recreate the full-color LED side destination display.
Featuring a slotless motor, it achieves smooth and quiet running performance. Each set is equipped without traction tires, considering the possibility of coupled operation.
It features KATO's unique body tilting mechanism, which reproduces the inward tilt of the car body when passing through curves, just like the real train.
Headlights/taillights and headmarks illuminate (with on/off switch). The 2000 series uses warm white LEDs, while the N2000 series uses cool white LEDs.
Each car uses a body-mounted close-coupling coupler without a hook. The front of the lead car has a dummy coupler.
