JR West's limited express train "Mahoroba" is a limited express train that connects Osaka and Nara, and in the past it was operated as a special train with changes in the rolling stock, route, and stops.
From March 2025, the service became a regular service, and dedicated trains were introduced, which were refurbished 3-car sets of the 683 series 2000 series and renamed to the 6000 series.
The first train set, "Annei," introduced in April, features a livery that combines gold, representing overflowing vitality and abundance, and sappanwood, a color derived from dyes introduced from the continent during the Nara period and frequently seen in treasures of that time. The design expresses the feeling of sunshine in paradise, illuminating the peace and tranquility of all things.
Furthermore, the second train set, "Yūkyū," introduced in October, features a color scheme of ink black and grayish-brown, reminiscent of the aging process of Buddhist statues that deepens in character over time. The design is characterized by a gradient from ink black to grayish-brown, expressing the "inheritance of culture to the eternal age (Manyō)."
We will be producing a model of the second 683 series 6000 series trainset, "Yukyu," which was refurbished for use on the regularly scheduled limited express "Mahoroba."

The leading car uses KATO close-coupling couplers (without hooks). Electrical connectors (2-stage) and coupler covers are included.
The intermediate connecting sections are equipped with KATO body-mounted close-coupling couplers (with hooks) as standard.
