Product Description

--Reinforcements from Kansai! The Yokosuka Line's "tea boy" train!

[Vehicle Introduction]
The Series 80 express train, manufactured from 1950 onwards, was developed as a groundbreaking vehicle that overturned the conventional wisdom of the time that long-distance trains were passenger trains and short-distance commuter trains were electric trains. Its high-speed performance and excellent acceleration and deceleration capabilities made it a sensation.
The 70 series train was developed as a suburban train incorporating the design philosophy of the 80 series. It was manufactured starting in 1951 and put into service on lines such as the Yokosuka Line, Keihanshin Local Line, Chuo Line, and Hanwa Line.
The 70 series adopted the semi-cross seating with three doors on each side, a design proven successful in pre-war suburban trains, to cope with rush hour traffic. It also incorporated the same design philosophy as the 80 series, with the leading cars being trailer cars and the intermediate cars being powered cars, and featured a new type of control system.
The front end adopted the so-called "Shonan type" design, which featured four folded panels, similar to the 80 series second-generation trains, which were cutting-edge designs at the time.
The Yokosuka Line introduced the 70 series, painted in the blue and cream colors commonly known as "Suka colors." Initially, the service mainly consisted of a 7-car basic formation combined with a 5-car auxiliary formation, but from around 1960, the trains were gradually converted to fixed 6-car formations and the number of formations was increased to accommodate increased service and transport capacity.
This reconfiguration also involved vehicles transferred from the Tokaido Local Line, and for a time, it was possible to see the unique sight of Yokosuka Line original "Suka" colored vehicles coupled with Tokaido Local Line's "grape" colored vehicles running together.
The grape-colored 70 series trains were gradually repainted in the Yokosuka Line's distinctive "Suka" livery, but the successor 111 series was introduced in 1962, and the 70 series was withdrawn from service on the Yokosuka Line in 1968.

[Product overview]
Micro Ace's old-style electric train series is further expanded. A variation product based on A1283 (released September 2016).
This product features the 70 series trains that were transferred from the Kansai region, a group that defined an era on the Yokosuka Line. It depicts the trains as they appeared in the early 1960s.
All cars except the Salo are grape-colored. The group of cars that have had H-rubber (black) support for the door windows and pocket windows since their introduction will be produced as a model.
The Kuha 76 cars had different body designs for even-numbered and odd-numbered cars. They were equipped with TR48 bogies. The Moha 70 cars were equipped with DT20 bogies.
Salo 75007 is equipped with TR45 bogies. The passenger door window frames are based on the group of colors of the car body. The car body color is the old Yokosuka color of Blue No. 2 + Cream No. 2, which is different from the Yokosuka color of the 113 series generation. Blue No. 1 class stripe, first class car marking era
Motorized, with working headlights and taillights, and an on/off switch.
Includes replacement couplers to recreate a 12-car train formed by coupling two train sets together.
* Due to the sharing of parts, some parts may differ from the actual train. The extended handrail on the front of the Kuha 76 is not reproduced.
