Product Description
--From Hakata, the train speeds along the rails and lifts off! The 811 series with its blue stripe.
[Vehicle Introduction]
The 811 series commuter AC electric train was developed to replace aging commuter trains such as the 421 series and 715 series, which were inherited by JR Kyushu from the Japanese National Railways.
The 811 series consists of fixed four-car formations, with lightweight stainless steel bodies resistant to rust. Each car has three double-leaf passenger doors on one side, and the interior features reversible cross seats, designed to improve ease of boarding and alighting during rush hour and enhance passenger comfort.
The running system is the same as that of the 783 series, which was being developed at the same time.
The adoption of phase control and bolsterless bogies has resulted in energy savings and improved maintainability.
In 1990, with the opening of a theme park in Kitakyushu City, a shuttle train service was established connecting Hakata Station and Space World Station.
For this shuttle train service, one of the then state-of-the-art 811 series trains was specially constructed and completed.
The exterior features a sky-blue stripe, different from other 811 series trains, and a diagonal stripe and the "[SPACE WORLD]" logo are displayed on the central door.
In addition, the interior features blue seat upholstery, and other interior components such as decorative panels, flooring, seat partitions, and fluorescent light covers have been changed from other 811 series trains.
Additionally, broadcasting equipment was installed to air theme songs and other content.
In 1996, the exterior was changed to a design primarily featuring red and character-themed wrapping, and in 2009, it was redesigned to match the other 811 series trains.

Safety markings [S], smoking/non-smoking car symbols above the doors, etc., reflecting the era in which it was introduced.
The undercarriage and high-voltage equipment around the pantograph are reproduced to match the appearance of the 811 when it first appeared.
The interior, with its rows of cross seats, is molded in navy blue to match the actual train.
A new skirt specifically designed for dummy couplers with a narrow front opening has been created. A skirt with a wider opening is also included to allow for coupler replacement.
